Chapter 3:Discern Mistreatment vs. Imposter Syndrome
In PRETECT’s work environment, employees may sometimes doubt themselves, especially when facing pressure, feedback, or high expectations. This is called imposter syndrome, where a person feels they are not good enough despite their skills, effort, and achievements.
However, it is also important to recognize the difference between personal self-doubt and unhealthy workplace situations. Constant overwork, unclear priorities, unrealistic expectations, lack of appreciation, or too much criticism can also affect confidence and performance.
At PRETECT, employees are encouraged to reflect honestly, speak up when support is needed, and separate facts from fear. Growth is important, but every employee should also feel respected, valued, and given a fair opportunity to contribute and succeed.
